I founded Family Office Bitcoin because the conversation most family offices were having about Bitcoin was not the conversation it needed to be. What existed was either advocacy dressed as analysis or institutional caution dressed as diligence. Neither served a principal trying to make a disciplined allocation decision with the same rigor applied to every other part of the portfolio.
I have spent approximately 20 years in financial advisory. The last several years have been focused entirely on Bitcoin allocation strategy for family offices and institutional investors. I am an active member of the Family Office Club and work within a network of family office professionals, attorneys, and investment officers who take this question seriously.
The firm is built around one thesis: Bitcoin is a legitimate allocation for a family office that understands what it is, sizes it with discipline, and governs the decision with a documented process. The work is to help family offices get there.
Eric Runge
A Bitcoin allocation is a portfolio architecture question before it is an investment question. The relevant considerations are position size relative to total investable assets, which vehicles provide the appropriate exposure given the office’s governance structure, how the position interacts with existing allocations, and what the decision-making process looks like when circumstances change.
Every engagement starts from that point.
